PDC Addresses Public Concerns About Independent Research Survey

Georgetown, Guyana - Project Development Consultancy (PDC) acknowledges the
Government of Guyana's notice dated December 2, 2024, regarding our ongoing public opinion
survey. We commend the government for bringing attention to ethical data collection practices
and welcome this opportunity to provide clarity on our work.
PDC is a reputable, independent research firm with over a decade of experience conducting
market and social research across the Caribbean and internationally. We have successfully
conducted projects for a diverse range of clients, including international organisations and
several multinational corporations. Our studies have generated data that informs global indices
and shaped policies benefiting Guyana and the Caribbean region. Since our inception, PDC has
provided part-time employment to over 700 Guyanese, demonstrating our commitment to
positive local impact.
We respect the legal framework governing research activities and ensure compliance with all
applicable regulations. Our experienced team fully adheres to ESOMAR & GDPR guidelines,
ensuring voluntary participation and respondent confidentiality in all our surveys.
In response to the claim that PDC’s enumerators misrepresented the survey as government
sanctioned, we have launched an internal investigation. Any mischaracterization of our
independent research is unacceptable and contradicts our core values.
Furthermore, we are deeply concerned by reports of aggression against our team members
following the recent public notice regarding our survey. Such conduct is unacceptable. We
kindly ask the public to respectfully decline participation if they so choose, as our surveys are
entirely voluntary.
PDC remains dedicated to conducting research with integrity and professionalism. We thank the
Guyanese public for their continued support, which enables us to generate valuable insights.
Through our PDC Gives Back initiative, we have distributed supermarket vouchers, prizes, and
food hampers, and also supported civil society and religious organisations. Most recently, the
Dr. Meshelle Brown Scholarship has enabled us to sponsor tuition for exceptional University of
Guyana students.
